About Swamp Boys
Born Out Of Frustration
My name is Jeffrey Wood. I started making turkey calls due to the frustration of having inconsistent sounding calls that I purchased from retail stores. Since I've started making my own calls, several of my friends and family have requested that I make calls for them. This has lead to the making of a variety of calls for hunters to purchase a consistent sounding product.

My earliest memories are of following my dad and uncle into the woods to squirrel and coon hunt with dogs when I was barely out of toddlerhood, learning to read the woods for squirrels, rabbits, and raccoons long before deer and turkeys were plentiful. When my own son came along, I bought my first squirrel dogs and began a journey that led me to train championship squirrel and coon dogs at the state and national level, guide for Mississippi Outdoors, appear on television, and take celebrities, governors, and VIPs into the woods. I cut my teeth on public land like the Bienville National Forest, harvesting fox and gray squirrels across the Delta, and as deer and turkey populations grew, I became an expert hunter and tracker, learning to take game in the toughest places—public land. About a decade ago I started making my own calls, from squirrel calls that have helped me kill hundreds of squirrels to some of the best deer grunts and turkey calls around; working in a machine shop gave me the skills to craft everything from mouth calls to pot, box, and wingbone calls, even winning a few turkey-calling contests along the way. Today I still love bowhunting and consistently take public-land deer, and I’m grateful for a lifetime of woods experience that started in the swamps of central Mississippi.

I grew up in the east Lincoln community. I started chasing turkeys at the age of 9. I’ve always had a passion for the wild turkey I knew when I heard the first gobble from a bird that this was my lifelong passion. I worked in the game call industry for 6 years before getting married to my wife Nikki. We’ve been married for 21 years and have a daughter Ava she turns 18 next month. I thank the lord everyday for my family and the ability to get out in his creation and chase the creatures that he created for us. Wild turkeys forever. Thank you lord.

My passion is public land hunting. I cut my teeth hunting the Homichitto National Forest and over the years have found great success with turkey and deer on highly pressured public lands.

My obsession with turkey hunting began at the age of 14 when I went on a hunt with my dad, Todd Prevatt, in Vidalia, Georgia. I experienced the thrill of calling the turkey in, watching him strut and gobble right in front of us, and then the rush of excitement from shooting my first gobbler, which turned out to be a triple beard. Over the years, my love of turkey hunting has turned into a passion. I have worked hard to craft and fine tune my turkey hunting skills to become as knowledgeable as I can, while still learning new ways to better myself. This has allowed me the opportunity to provide guided turkey hunts, and be part of the joy and excitement other hunters experience, from a sport that I love.

From an early age, I discovered a love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. Among all my pursuits, turkey hunting captured my heart. That passion, sparked in my youth, has only grown stronger over the years, shaping not just my hobbies but my way of life.
